This byway travels through the tree-covered Turtle Mountains.Here the visitor can enjoy beautiful lakes, lush foliage,wildflowers, and an abundance of wildlife. The byway includes theInternational Peace Garden, Lake Upsilon, Lake Metigoshe StatePark, the Butte St. Paul Historic Site and Wakopa. The TurtleMountains provide camping, fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, skiing,picnicking, golfing, archery, hiking and biking opportunities.

Rich in history, this area provided trading and trapping for theearly settlers. Buffalo herds were in abundance and wildlife stillabounds in the area.
