British Columbia is home to three bodies of water that can be called nothing less than recreation and houseboating paradises. Lake Shuswap and Lake Koocanusa are two stunning lakes surrounded by the mountains of BC and rimmed with amazing shorelines full of wildlife and great beaches, not to mention amazing fish populations. Lake of the Woods is a behemoth body of water found in central Canada along the border with Minnesota.
With average summer water temps in the mid-70s, these lakes are the perfect place for powerboats, personal watercraft, and houseboats. While Koocanusa is more of a beautiful, secluded and non-developed body of water, Lake Shuswap enjoys several communities on the lake offering everything from golf courses, to ATV riding and other on-land action and comforts. You'll even get 'on lake' high speed internet access with houseboats on Lake Shuswap. Lake of the Woods is simply so large and diverse that you can find one adventure after another while boating this wonderful body of water. No matter your interests, one of these gems is sure to provide the vacation you're looking for.
